Auburn Hills, Mich.-based TI Automotive Ltd. has opened a new facility in Guangzhou, China, to blow mold fuel tank systems. The 67,000-square-foot plant will make tanks for Nissan, Toyota, Peugeot Citroen and Qoros, according to a news release.

TI Automotive, which produces a variety of automotive fluid systems, established its first facility in China in 1985 and now operates 15 automotive facilities there. The new Guangzhou facility, employing 40, is its second blow molding fuel tank facility in the country.

"China and the Asia-Pacific region will continue to play a key role in our growth," said Bill Kozyra, TI Automotive’s chairman, CEO and president, in the release. “We expect this to grow as our customers increase their reach within the region."

TI Automotive had estimated global sales of $3 billion in 2013, according to Plastics News data. It operates 130 locations worldwide, according to its website.
